Reading/Listening    

  • Please read every day from your Just Right Readers for 20 minutes using your Reading Room in Raz Kids.  Answer the comprehension questions too.      
  • Take 5 books that are your favourite and have a teddy bear picnic. Read to your stuffies (family members and pets are welcome!) either inside or outside depending on the weather. Use lots of expression and repeat your book at least one time. Can you record on Seesaw?  

Printing     

  • Yellow Printing Book – Handwriting without Tears – p.88 to 93. This will be a good practice for your numbers. Colour the pictures too! ·      
  • Page 94 is your final page in the book. How neat can you be? Hint: Capitals start at the top! ·     
  • JOLLY PHONICS STUDENT BOOK 2  Page 16 and 17. This is a good review for vowel sounds. Be careful!

Journal Writing

  • In your "MY 2020 COVID-19 TIME CAPSULE' booklet, please finish anything you did not do and read over your journal. Well done students on completing your journal writing!
  • Parents Homework: please have parents write a letter to you! Last page of the book.

Spelling

  • Go back from the beginning and see if you missed any spelling words in your Grammar Book 1.  Do these pages for your catch uptime. No mustard please. :)
  • You can practice the list of these tricky words for this week? Can you write them in the sand in the sun? Can you write them in your blue book and have some fun? Can you write them in the air? Journal Writing

  • In your "MY 2020 COVID-19 TIME CAPSULE' booklet, please do page 9 ‘Interview your Parents.’ Pretend you are a reporter and get ready to ask the questions on the page to your parents or grandparents and write your answers down. Be courageous with your spelling as you sound out words, use your spelling rules and maybe get some help with a word or two from your parents if you are stuck.

  • Mrs. Okuma has shared the first part of chapter three ‘Stanley Sails’ of “Stanley Flat Again’ with you found on Seesaw. Listen and draw a picture of your favourite part on the template provided. Tell me your favourite part either by recording or writing it down.      
  • Please listen to the poem, ‘Spring’ on Seesaw. You can also print off the copy found below on the attachments. Can you memorize this and record it on Seesaw maybe outside in the yard? Find the nouns and verbs in the poem and write them in your Blue journal book. Draw a picture of this poem in your journal book.

  • Mrs. Okuma has shared chapter two of “Stanley Flat Again’ with you found on Seesaw. Listen to the chapter two and record who Stanley went to see and why.      
  • This week bring your books, blanket, pillows and your favourite stuffed animals outside to have a Reading Picnic. After you read out loud, sit quietly and use your senses to understand God’s nature. Now think of a poem you could say using your senses. For example, “I hear a bee and it landed on my knee!”

Printing/Science

  • Please print very neatly in your green Science booklet ‘Sources of Energy’ and on page one, name the three types of energy (Hint: they are on page 2).
  • Colour objects that are sound, light and heat energy only on page 2.
  • Now head outside either on a hike with your family or walk around your yard listening to sounds. What do you hear? Print neatly on the lines 5 things that you hear and draw a picture using pencil crayons or crayons of one thing or more.

  • Make a sentence with each word. Is the word a noun (person,place or thing) or a verb (doing word). Circle the noun or underline the verb in the sentence.

Journal - Please write me 5 or more sentences about the signs of spring by using your 5 senses. Use the rubrics to check your work. Draw a ‘wow’ picture to compliment.
