Gr. 8 boys win third place in the North Island basketball tournament!

Our grade 8 boys basketball team traveled to Port Alberni to take part in the North Island tournament last week. They started off playing Brooks from Powell River and won the game on a buzzer beater by Hayden Biblow. In the semi-finals, they took on a very strong team from Phoenix but ended up losing by eleven. That result put them in the bronze medal game against Southgate, a team that had beaten them by two points earlier in the season. It was a see-saw affair, but the Arrows made a run to take the lead and hung on to take third place! It was a fantastic result for a team that only had two subs and had to play three games in a row. The boys also had a 5-3 record from league play.
